When it comes to hosting a content management system which makes information dynamically available to readers an appropriate hosting service is required. Most webmasters know the difference between free hosts and paid hosts, basically free hosts are not recommended accounts even if it is for personal web sites because there are several downsides to this particular service.
To name a few: most free hosts do not offer MySQL databases which are key to running all the information required to run a blog, information such as articles, polls, statistics, add ons, template system, etc. are all stored within this database type. Not having this feature available will only leave the option of creating static web sites which are hard to manage after a certain amount of articles or posts.
Another key element free hosts interfere with is: advertisement. Almost all webmasters try to monetize their quality content through ad networks such as Adsense, Commission Junction, etc. or by selling a particular product/service. The problem with free hosts lies in the fact that several, untargeted ads are placed in areas of high visibility within the blog, the most common area is the header. Imagine you run a blog about children’s education and protection against internet predators, what would be the reaction of your readers if they saw a huge 700 x 100 banner at the top of your blog advertising an adult dating service?, wouldn’t you think such advertisements defeat the purpose of your source?, not to even mention the pop ups.
An option to free this disadvantageous service lies in blog platform hosting through the CMS provider, for instance, Blogger (Google owned) and WordPress both offer free hosting services which are ad free, the only downside to this solution is that your visitors will face a lot of trouble to find your site because the URL is not very practical. Most visitors remember a web site by its design but more importantly by its domain. Blogger and WordPress offer a “sub-domain” hosting option which means that your blog web address will look somewhat like “blogger/wordpress.yourblogname.com” (replace blogger or wordpress depending the platform you use).
A good way to approach these problems is by acquiring a paid hosting account which these days are extremely cheap and are well within the budget range of everybody. The most popular solution is virtual hosting, but not all paid virtual hosting providers are right for blogs either. The most important aspects and features you should look for are: one click platform installation, blogging software tech support, platform variety, MySQL database allowance, email accounts, a web server able to run multiple CGI scripts, Perl modules, web management system, FTP, ImageMagick script, etc.
All of these requirements need to be fulfilled in order to successfully run a blog on a server. The best way to decide which service is best, is to look at your platform of choice, go through the system requirements and match it to your service provider. Remember that all blogging applications will require different resources.

Why Do People Behave Like That?
July 21st, 2009 by julia97 · No Comments · Uncategorized
Why don’t I ever see a half-empty bag of potato chips or a few peanuts left in a bowl? We must have convinced ourselves that snack food doesn’t have as many calories because we eat it with our hands. But if that’s right, maybe it applies only to right-handed people.
Why don’t people make an effort to throw empty potato chip bags in a trash receptacle? What do these peoples’ homes look like? If you asked them to properly dispose of the bags, would you get trash talk in return?
Why don’t men ask for directions? I used to think it was because they were embarrassed to be lost. Maybe I was wrong. Maybe someone has previously told them where to go without their having asked for directions.
Why do people cross the street when the hand sign is already blinking red? If they did that in New York City, they’d be dead wrong.
Local TV stations broadcast car chases because viewers want to see them. I understand that. What I don’t understand is why viewers want to see them. Do they really think the driver is somehow going to escape the police? Are there really people who think in real life the tortoise would beat the hare?
Luggage on wheels is a great invention. It makes getting luggage from one place to another so easy travelers forget they’re pulling mini eighteen-wheelers. They suddenly stop and I whack my foot on their suitcase. Why don’t these suitcases have a little sign on them saying, “How Am I Pulling?” – followed by a 1-800 number?
Pink houses look good in Bermuda and in the Caribbean too, but I can think of only one reason why someone in the middle of conservative Rhode Island would paint their house pink – not just pink, but pugnacious pink. The person must be confined to the house because of illness, but wants to be in the pink.
Why do dogs turn in circles before they lie down? Is it because they know they won’t be getting around for awhile? Why after a first date do guys say they’ll call? Why do girls believe them? Postponing disappointment doesn’t make you happier. Just ask any Chicago Cubs fan.
I used to wonder why politicians made promises they didn’t keep, but I figured it out. They do it for the same reason children do it – to get what they want.
Enhancing Your Love Life, Tips For Seniors
July 21st, 2009 by julia97 · No Comments · Uncategorized
Irrespective of who we are, all of us need help at some stage of our lives especially our love lives. So what if you are on the higher side of the age group? Do you think that your sex life is over? Well, think again. It is true that with age, our body gets tender and also less energetic. As a result, men are often worried of ‘rising up to the occasion’ and being able to perform, whereas the women may have a problem with lubrication. These used to be a damper, but not anymore. You can now find solutions to all the worries you and your partner have and in the process you can put your love life back on track. Does it sound too good to be true? Read ahead!
There are a plenty of products out there that can be of immense help. And you are not alone in your search for products that can add the zeal back to your sex life. However, the important thing is to correctly ‘identify’ the problem. More often than not, the real problem in our sex lives is due to our mindsets. And to make the matters worst, when it comes to our sex lives, we really psyche ourselves up. And that reflects in the performance. If that were the real cause, you would find that the solution lies in changing the way you think. Simple. But if your problems are related to your health, then you should consult your doctor for medical help. For men, there are products like Viagra and Cialis that can help you to rise and perform. For females also there are many products available that can help in getting the most out of their sex life.
Apart from the medical help from your doctor, you can also try out herbal supplements. Ginko biloba and vitamin B are some options that can help improve your energy levels. Sometimes, vitamin supplements, in moderation, can make all the difference. Try to maintain a lifestyle that is more active and you would find that over time your stamina and energy levels would improve.
In nutshell, do not refrain from sex. Abstinence does not help, neither you nor your partner. The key is to get to the root of your problem and finding new things that can be of help to you. This will help you find the right solution for your problem. And if you do need medical help, go to a specialist and stay away from the wonder drugs that you find aplenty on the Internet.
Automatic Garage Doors vs Manual Garage Doors
July 21st, 2009 by julia97 · No Comments · Uncategorized
Automatic garage doors offer a lot of advantages over manual garage doors. Unless you have some very particular reason to choose the manual option, you are almost certainly better off with automatic doors.
#Installation
The only real difficulty with an automatic garage door is the installation. But installation only needs to happen once, and you can mostly leave it to the professionals. Whether you are starting from scratch, or converting a manual door into an automatic garage door, installation will take very little of your time and money.
Naturally, if you decide to go it alone and install garage doors by yourself, things will take a little more time. For most people, I wouldn’t advise trying to install automatic garage doors by yourself. It is possible, but what is a quick job for the experts will take amateurs many days of work. The sheer size of the garage door makes the installation tricky, and you could easily end up spraining your muscles as you try to manhandle an automatic garage door into place.
#Maintenance
Automatic garage doors do require slightly more maintenance than manual garage doors, but this need not be much of a burden, and a good automatic garage door is a sturdy beast, on the whole. The appropriate techniques will vary between different doors, so be sure to ask about maintenance when your automatic garage door is being installed.
Automatic garage doors should be resistant to most weather damage, and to water damage, but in some cases non-water chemicals within rain will cause a little corrosion to metal doors. This problem can be avoided by very occasionally wiping down your automatic garage door. Use water with a little soap in it to achieve the best effects. Different treatment will be required for automatic garage doors made of wood. The ideal method will depend on whether your doors are wood or wood-effect, and what type of wood they are. It is advisable to check the manufacturer’s instructions when you buy the doors.
It is quite important to keep your automatic garage doors well-lubricated. This will increase their working life, and it will also make the doors operate more quickly and with less noise.
Good maintenance of your automatic doors is crucial to keeping them operating safely. Springs and balancing are particularly important in this. A door which is poorly balanced may fail to stop and reverse on contact with an object, which means it could injure somebody who fell in its path.
#Control
Remote control is one of the biggest selling points for automatic garage doors. The ability to come home and open your garage without even getting out of your car makes the commute home just that little bit more pleasant. It’s certainly something you’ll appreciate when the weather is foul, and you don’t want to step out into the rain to wrestle with a cold door.
Remember that if you want to keep one remote control for your garage door permanently in your car, you will need another for operation at other times. Having a second remote control will make life much easier around the house, and can be a blessing if you lose the other control. It is also common to have a push-button control for the garage door as well, often on the inside of the garage. One way or another, somebody inside your garage should always be able to open your garage door.
Automatic garage doors typically have an additional manual locking/unlocking mechanism. This may not ever be used, but it is important for maintenance and safety reasons. In the event of a fire, for instance, you may need to use the garage door to escape your house. But electricity supply will likely be disrupted in such an eventuality, and so it is important that automatic doors have a ‘failsafe’ mode of manual operation.
#Aesthetics
Now here’s something you can take out of the equation entirely: the aesthetics. Automatic garage doors don’t have to look any different from manual garage doors, and in most cases there is no reason for them to. For some reason, the marketing types who try to sell you automatic garage doors seem to think you’ll be seduced by the sight of gleaming metal sliding into operation. If that appeals to your aesthetic sense and the design of your house and garden, then by all means go for this kind of look, but don’t let yourself be shoehorned into it, and certainly don’t think it’s the only option.
Many owners of automatic garage doors are proud of the way that they don’t look automatic. Just like in murder mysteries, where the ornate bookcase conceals the hidden door, so old-fashioned wood or wood-effect doors can be automated in much the same way as metal ones. Automatic doors don’t need to look modern to be modern.
Free Advertising, Search Sub Engines And Your Marketing Dollar
July 21st, 2009 by julia97 · No Comments · Uncategorized
Online advertising campaigns can be, and quite often are, expensive and innefective unless you have what can only be described as a mega advertising budget.
Unfortunately for most of us, we don’t possess such vast amounts of cash that we can comfortably throw at our advertising campaigns. So, it’s of paramount importance that we squeeze every single cents worth from every dollar we spend.
With economy in mind most of us turn towards the free advertising mediums regardless of their effectiveness and fool ourselves into beleiving that even though it’s free. If we spend enough time and energy using it and submitting to it that we will eventually be rewarded with the results we desire.
How true is this, and are there any other avenues open to the business owner or online promoter which will truly deliver on their promises.
I doubt there is anyone online that hasn’t tried submitting to FFA, free for all pages, free link submitters, email submitters, blog submitters, safelist submitters and lately isp submitters. All of which can be found for free with a little searching or determination and if not free can be purchased for pennies from Ebay.
But in our rush to try these useless pieces of junk we forget the most valueable possession we have, and that’s our time, and we waste it by the bucket full hoping to get results from this online twoddle.
It seems that everything has its day, and the days of the above mentioned programs and software have long since gone, obvious when you consider that programs and software that you would have paid as much as $197.00 is now available on Ebay for as little as $1.50.
Ffa pages and email promotions were the bes kness in online promoting ten years ago, but with the emergence of ever more efficient spam controls and punishments and the fact that nobody visits ffa pages any longer, they have both been relegated to the marketing archives.
Along with them go the worse than useless pieces of junk such as blog submitters, isp submitters and the laughable link submitter.
Blog submitters just simply do not work. The idea behined this software was that, at the push of a button a link to your website would be automatically distributed to millions of blogs, giving you millions of back links to your site and in the process pushing your site high up in the search engine rankings.
What the peddlars of these programs omit to tell you is that to get your site linked to a blog you must approach the owner of the blog and ask their permission. If you could randomely place a link on millions of blogs, don’t you think the owners of those blogs would be a little p’ssed off and would make a point of deleting your unwelcome link and contacting you with some suitably verbal abuse for not asking permission first.
The exact same applies to link submitters, they purely and simply do not work.
As for isp submitters, well they take second prize as being the most useless of all the submitters. They apparently submit your advert to the desk tops of million, no billions of computers throughout the world and when theuser of the computer closes down up pops your advert. What you only discover, after you have puerchsed it, is that if any of the isp’s you are targeting are protected by a firewall your advert will not reach its destination.
It seem pretty obvious to me, that if you are using the Internet and you don’t want all sorts of unwelcome crap on your computer, not to mention multiple viruses, you are going to use a firewall to protect yourself. Now it doesn’t take a genius to see that if you take these precautions that 99.99999% of the online world will be doing likewise. So into the recycle bin goes isp submitters.
Safelist submitters in my opinion get the top prize, the oscar for useless online twonk. Check out any of the thousands of programs available and the first thing they advise you to do is open anemail account where all your emails from other users can be sent so you can delete them without ever seeing them. Der, if you are being advised to do this, then where may I ask you are your emails going.
Yes, you’ve guessed correctly, directly into severy other subscribers junk mail account, to be deleted before ever being read.
Having said all of that, each of these programs or pieces of software may have had their uses in the past and now we have to look to the future of free online marketing.
The future of free online marketing rest solely in the hands of the Search Sub Engine. This is the latest and in my opinion, probably the only one which will still be around and effective for many years to come. Its effectiveness should stand the test of time simply because its concept is based on familiarity and demand.
Allow me to explain, the Search Sub Engine is a site rotation system, which allows every user to reach the #1 search position for their particular category, much the same way as you would reach the top of your category if you were seling an item on an auction site, so familiar.
As for demand, everyone, and I mean everyone wants, even craves traffic, the Search Sub Engine delivers that traffic, and it does that simply by guaranteeing that you will reach the top spot for your search category. This is a position we all strive to reach with the search engines, and we chase this coveted position because we know that upon reaching it, a whole world of traffic will come racing into our business, that’s exactly what the Search Sub Engine wil do for your business.
The big difference between the Search Sub Engine and the standard search engine is that you don’t need all the other associated programs or software to get there, you just submit your listing and the Search Sub Engine does the rest. And it does it for free.
Finding Fall Wedding Venues
July 20th, 2009 by julia97 · No Comments · Uncategorized
Choosing a venue for a fall wedding is an exercise in vision. A successful choice of locations for an autumn nuptial will reward the bride with memories and wedding photography that should make any bride proud.
The standard, over-used, modern wedding venues such as hotel ballrooms and golf courses are fine for brides who want a wedding just like every other wedding they’ve attended in their life. But for the bride bold enough to plan a wedding that sits outside the traditional wedding season, same ol’ same ol’ is not enough. Rather, choose a location for your wedding which will pay dividends for you, your wedding photography, and your guests by rewarding you with a sweeping view of the beauty of the fall season.
Fortunately, there are many ways to achieve such a lofty goal. If you live in or near the countryside some of my favorite fall wedding venue options are as follows:
Orchard: An orchard brings built in leaf color opportunities. Create your own outdoor chapel with colorful trees providing the decor.
Barn: One of the most memorable wedding venues I have ever seen was created with an old weathered barn as the starting point. The bridal party took long swaths of off white fabric and hung it from the rafters to transform the rustic structure into a tasteful cathedral. Of course you can dress it up or down from there.
Add hay bales, gords, pumpkins, and bushels of the fall harvest or dress it up with white chairs and silver accents. Either way, whether you leave the doors open so your guests can admire the changing colors of the season or wait to throw the doors open after the celebration a barn could make a great venue for your fall wedding.
Countryside Lodge: Imagine your fall wedding in a lodge nestled in the hills (or better yet, mountains) with a glass wall revealing the grandeur of the season’s colors. Enough said.
Old Country Church: Long eschewed by modern society, these old structures offer character that you just can not find anywhere else – and by definition the location of many of them makes them an ideal backdrop for an autumn wedding.
Vineyard: In many ways this offers the same opportunities as an orchard, except vineyards are often already equipped with venues designed to accommodate the general public.
If you must stay in the city your choices are considerably more limited, but you are not without hope in finding a venue for a fall wedding:
Park: In your town, you know where to go. Remember the color of Central Park in New York? What about Stanley Park in Vancouver, B.C.? Millennium Park in Chicago? Boston Commons? You get the idea. Of course you have to adjust to local weather considerations. For example, it rains a lot in the fall in Vancouver so an outdoor fall wedding might not be feasible. So it might be necessary to choose a hotel or restaurant (or the aquarium?) with views overlooking Stanley Park for your wedding. Other cities might not allow weddings in the park. Check with you local municipalities.
Zoo: Many major zoos have facilities ideal for hosting private functions and the nature of a zoo is to design a place that brings a little bit of the wild into the city. That is a perfect scenario for one looking for a great fall wedding venue.
Estate: Every community has a number of estates that have been cultivated over the years in an attempt to bring a little bit of the best of the countryside back into the city. Some of these are made available for special events and make a great venue for a fall wedding.
Old Church: The old churches of the city are much different than the quaintness of the old country churches. These tend to be bigger, often made of stone and are appropriate for grand wedding celebrations year around. For a fall wedding, however, you want to find one that has managed to maintain grounds around the building or is next to a city park that will reward you with a dramatic view of the glory of the fall season as you exit the church as a newly married couple.
These are just a few suggestions for fall wedding venues. I doubt it is possible to exhaust the possibilities without traveling to every hamlet in the world, but these are a good place to start.
Ultimately, if you want to put together a fall wedding you can choose literally any venue that will reward you with a sweeping view of the color of autumn and not go wrong.

Managing Your Dry Eyes
July 20th, 2009 by julia97 · No Comments · Uncategorized
What do you do when you get dry eyes? Especially when it gets red, itchy and irritable? Most people treat the symptoms because, frankly, dry eye syndrome does not usually get cured. So, one resorts to putting drops into the eyes and that reduces the redness. Unfortunately, this is more of a symptomatic treatment than a cure so one has to keep repeating it every time the eyes get dry and red.
What these drops do is to constrict the blood vessels in the eyes to make them less red. Prolonged use, however, necessitates using more and more of the eye drops till it usually stops working altogether. The blood vessels obviously get used to the medication and refuse to co-operate and constrict.
One does not really know what causes dry eyes but you could take some precautions so it does not get worse. Try and protect them with dark glasses when you go out in the sun. If the dust outside irritates your eyes, make sure your dark glasses have a foam sealing at each end and all around, so it fits snugly against your skin and does not allow the dust to go into your eyes. Inside the house, too, you can minimize dust with an air cleaner and use a humidifier so the air is not too dry.
Talk to your ophthalmologist or optometrist about what drops to use. They might advise you against buying over the counter eye drops because it will not do anything for your dry eyes. Instead, you might be asked to buy eye drops that are called ‘artificial tears’ which lubricate the eye or maybe even Restasis which actually makes tear production in your eye increase.
Just in case you wear contact lenses, don’t put any kind of drops in your eyes when you have them on. Take them off, put the drops in, wait for a while – it might be mentioned on the label for how long you should wait – and then put your lenses back on. Here, too you can check with the specialist what eye drops contact lens wearers can use. If you do have a major problem, discuss it with the eye care specialist and maybe he will change your lenses. If the irritation gets unbearable, you might have to discontinue wearing them at least till the condition has become better.
Remember that if you are scheduled for eye surgery or LASIK, you might not be able to go through with it until your dry eyes have cleared up as it causes complications after the procedure. It would be better to wait till the problem has subsided before you go in for any kind of eye surgery.
Maybe some of the drugs you are taking right now are responsible for your dry eyes. Well, the doctor could maybe change the medication if possible. Don’t, however, tamper with changes in medications on your own. Your eye care physician would be the one to go to in case it is due to an eye infection. Conditions like blepharatis have been known to cause dry eyes. This will necessitate medicated eye drops.
There is ongoing research to find a cure for dry eyes. Products like trehalose have tested positive but further studies are needed before any of these products can be introduced in the market.

Antiques Mean Something Different To Everyone
July 20th, 2009 by julia97 · No Comments · Uncategorized
Many people, myself included love the look of old things. We love to furnish our homes with old furniture and different nick knacks that have come from a different era. Many of these things are antiques while many are just old looking. It has become very popular these days to decorate your house with older looking furniture. Many manufacturers make modern furniture that look like antiques but in fact are not.
This is a cheaper way for people to have the look without the expense. Of course they also miss out on the history that goes with the original piece. But for many people including myself it is an option that we welcome. Many of my original antiques are things that have been handed down through the generations of my family. These things I really treasure. Then the rest are copies that blend in very well with the look that I like.
I could not tell you if any of my antiques are very valuable or not but I must say that I love them because of the way they look, their craftsmanship and of course for their sentimental value. It is such a shame to think that so many antiques have been thrown out or destroyed over time because they were old and not fashionable any more.
If you are someone who really loves the original product whether it be furniture, cars, glass wear, dolls and so on and you want to purchase some then you should know a little bit about antiques. If you don’t, then ask someone who does to help you. There are so many people out there ready to rip you off so you should be well armed. Just because something looks old and you love it does not mean it is worthy of an expensive antique price tag.
Of course, in the end if you’ve got the money and that is what you want then price doesn’t really matter but generally for the average person you should only pay what the product is truly worth. Especially if you want this product as an investment as many collectors do.
You need to learn about things such as certain markings or numbers to look for on some antiques. It is a way of knowing that they are original. It’s sad to think that there are also many remakes that are being sold as the originals when they are really just excellent copies. That is why it is important to learn a few things.
Ask around to find an antique dealer that has a good reputation. Then go and talk to him or her about what you are interested in. They can be a great source of information. There are also many good books that will be very helpful and educational. Once you arm yourself with this knowledge then you can start shopping with confidence.
Business Process Mapping in Internet Marketing
July 20th, 2009 by julia97 · No Comments · Uncategorized
The world of internet marketing (iMarketing) is a funny one. It seems that millions of people clamour over the next way to find quick cash and big riches. This is evidenced by the popularity of iMarketing sites, ezines, groups, and informational and software products.
However, the reality is that only a small percentage of people worldwide actually make money with iMarketing. Only about 10% of people who dabble in iMarketing actually earn profits on a regular basis. Of that 10%, maybe 1% make big money. Within this top 1% are the big name iMarketing experts who make solid, six figure incomes (often referred to as “Super Affiliates”). The remaining 9% earn some level of profit. These are the people who have found a money-making niche online and continue to capitalize on it.
There is almost endless possibilities for ways to earn money using the internet. A few examples of money-making techniques include web site portals (mini websites), selling products via auctions (Ebay), selling informational products (eBooks), and marketing other people’s products as an affiliate (affiliate marketing). These methods don’t even begin to scratch the surface of all the ways that are available to make a living online.
With so many ways available to make money online, why is it that so few people actually make money? The answer is that the iMarketing arena is cluttered with thousands of products (software and informational), independent claims of success, and individual tips, tricks, and iMarketing techniques. One so-called iMarketing expert says one thing; another says something else. Everything that you’ll find online for iMarketing is disjointed from one another. There is no clear connections between products or strategies. There are no maps that tie one area of iMarketing to another.
How do you know what to believe or even where to start? Assuming that you actually do get started in your own business, what are the steps or path toward growing a successful business? Most people buy an iMarketing product and do nothing with it. Those that buy multiple projects get frustrated because each of the products doesn’t have anything to do with the others. This causes a lack of focus and in the end much wasted efforts.
One of the best methods for developing a clear vision and understanding your business direction is by developing process maps of your business systems. Simply put, a process map can be defined as “an identifiable process of tasks or actions that are completed in order to perform a specific function within your business”. A process map describes the steps that you take to complete the most critical functions of your business.
One of the first actions to start or improve an internet marketing business should be to document your business systems. You can do so by first taking the time to identify your key processes. Some examples of processes that you may consider include your marketing process, sales process, product development, and customer relationship development process.
Once you have documented your processes, you can streamline your business direction and minimize purchases of software, books, or other learning materials to ONLY those that support your business systems. Staying focused on your business objectives is easier to do when you have a defined process and refer to it when making business decisions.

The Business of Speaking for Profit, Pleasure and Personal Growth
July 20th, 2009 by julia97 · No Comments · Uncategorized
I believe that public speaking can be rewarding in many ways. First of all it can provide you with an opportunity to earn a fantastic full time or part time income working from home. Groups, organizations and businesses are always looking for informative, entertaining speakers to address their members at banquets, annual meetings, conferences etc. As you become well known as a speaker the invitations increase. Word of mouth is still the best form of advertising. As your reputation spreads you will find people from outside your local area approaching you to present to their group. Since I began my speaking career I have spoken to numerous groups throughout Canada and the United States. Not only are the financial rewards terrific, but I get to travel, all expenses paid, meet new people and see new country. What a great life and what great rewards for doing what I love to do.
Another appealing feature of a speaking career is that you control your own schedule. You accept only those engagements that fit nicely into your other family duties and obligations. If you want a month off, you just don’t accept bookings during that time. When you add this to no traffic jams to face twice a day and no boss to contend with it starts to hit you just how appealing this career is.
Not only do you determine how many speeches you would like to give per month but you also can negotiate how much you will charge per speech. When just starting out in the speaking business you will receive in the neighborhood of $200.00 per presentation. Within a year you could be receiving between $500 and $1000 per talk. Not bad part time money for doing something you love.
I like to have a fee range to accommodate the various budgets of different groups and to provide room for negotiation. I am in the business of opening doors of opportunity not closing them because my fee is rigid. This is entirely up to you. I know speakers who will not negotiate their fees. That is their choice.
If you just want to speak locally you can. If you want to spread your vocal wings across the region and the continent the possibilities are endless. Marketing yourself and your service will bring opportunities galore. If you have a computer and are online you can advertise on your own web site. This brings inquiries from all over the planet and spreads the word about your speaking topics and availability to millions of potential clients.
Added Benefits of a Public Speaking Career
1. Public speaking builds confidence. When you experience the thrill of holding an audience in the palm of your hand and receive their appreciative applause your confidence soars.
2. Public speaking boosts your self esteem. When you see the audience relate to you as someone who really knows what you are talking about your self esteem increases. And we all can use an increase in self esteem.
3. People start looking at you in a more positive way. Even if you never use your public speaking skills in giving formal presentations, people will notice that you are more articulate and confident in expressing an opinion or sharing an insight. You will discover that they begin looking to
you for advice and opinions on many issues.
4. It helps you become a more organized thinker.. Planning, writing and delivering a well researched , well organized presentation has an overflow effect in other areas of your life. You begin to plan and organize your thoughts more effectively.. This is especially helpful in your
career or business. When your manager or supervisor asks your opinion on some work- related issue you are better able to express your ideas in a clear, concise and well organized manner.
5. Public speaking begins to alter your self perception. As you begin to use the skills involved in public speaking you will notice that you begin to start talking to yourself in a more positive way. You begin to see yourself as capable and confident.
6. By accepting the challenge to speak in public you begin to explore and actualize your own potential. Many of us go through life not realizing how much we are capable of achieving. Public speaking is an effective tool in the process of self discovery.
7. Public speaking gives you the courage to break out of your comfort zone. I believe that the comfort zone is the enemy of human growth. When we are too comfortable where we are we tend to become stagnant. Speaking in public pushes us out of the comfort zone and reveals to
us our enormous capabilities.
If you feel compelled to share your expertise or message with others do so. Start slowly and start small but start. The benefits and rewards are tremendous.
